I have created a quick outline of the expectations for fashion writers and boutiques when working together. This relationship is a fabulous one and you want to make sure both sides benefit. What the boutique wants. – Exposure. What the writer wants. – Content and Fashion Knowledge. A publicist’s job is to make the connection. Match boutiques with writers that would be interested in their brand. A writer or editor’s contacts are always open to a publicist’s recommendations. The publicist will coordinate the writer and the boutique while confirming the date and time. Here’s how a boutique visit works. The Writer The writer will come in to view the collection. The writer will most likely try on a few pieces and take pictures of the clothes, the boutique and maybe themselves in the clothes. The writer will create a post to share on their social. (Blog, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram stories.) […]

The space for Men’s fashion keeps expanding. I personally love Men’s fashion, boys have a way to make being fashionable, creative and classic seem simple. Nowadays getting a great quality, reasonably priced custom suit or button-down is easy. Suit Supply is my favorite men’s brand and has been for the last few years. There are tons of cool brands working to make men look super stylish and lucky for us we get to enjoy the swag! Gaining exposure for a women’s brand is a bit different than gaining exposure for a men’s brand. As a publicist you still want to be creative, innovative and timely. However, you want a slightly different approach with men at top of mind. If you have a client that focuses on Men’s fashion here are a few quick ideas to get exposure for the brand and to push any Men’s fashion brand forward. Focus on […]
A To-Do list is a thing of beauty. As a publicist, I create a To-Do list (or two) every day and it without a doubt is the single most important thing that makes my day successful. To stay productive I wake up very early and I work out most mornings, however my To-Do list keeps me on track once the day begins. A To-Do list keeps you from forgetting the things you want to achieve each day. When you create a To-Do list you clear the space in your mind for other things like execution. After creating a solid list, fully review your list at least three times a day. Once you cross each item off your daily list, you feel accomplished which pushes you toward another successful day. I LOVE crossing items off my list one by one. Use the few items left on your list to start your […]
My love for traveling grows stronger year over year. I am off to Amsterdam in a few weeks and I was in Greece earlier this year. While, I mostly focus on art, fashion and friends when I travel learning about the history of each country I visit is amazing. Greece didn’t disappoint. A place rich in style and culture. I was given the opportunity to write about my Grecian experience for the Pink Pangea. A super cool brand for gals that love to travel. Like me! You can find my piece here. I can’t wait to hear what you think! XOXO
